Born and raised in Sweden Mårten Jönmark moved to Edinburgh, Scotland in 1999 to study animation. Since graduating in 2002 he has had a variety of jobs and roles in the animation industry. He has worked as an animator on several successful short films including the BAFTA winning 'the Pearce sisters' for Aardman animation, and as a storyboard artist on several children's TV series, short films and also on the two animated feature films 'Varjak Paw' and 'Sir Billi the Vet'. For the latter he also did the design work and the matte paintings.
He has also worked as a lecturer at Edinburgh College of Art since 2003.
Currently freelancing with several companies across the UK doing storyboards, design work and animation, Mårten has just finished storyboarding 13 episodes of 'Marvo the Wonder Chicken' for Red Kite animation and Animating a TV ad for Ko Lik Films. He is also illustrating a children's book.
